Revitalise and Thrive: January wellness for a fresher you
In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it's easy for us busy women, juggling work family and life, to lose sight of our own well-being.
As we step into 2024, let's embark on a January wellness journey together, aiming for a fresher and more energised version of ourselves.
Embrace the busy life
I understand only too well that being a busy working mum is no small feat.
It often means we put everyone else's needs before our own. However, January is the perfect time to shift the focus back on to you.
Let’s embrace the chaos and acknowledge the challenges, but don't let them define your wellness journey. It's time you prioritised self-care without feeling guilty.
Revitalising rituals
Start your day with small, revitalising rituals, create a morning routine that works for you.
Whether it's sipping a cup of herbal tea, journaling, practicing mindful breathing or mediation, these moments can create a sense of calm before the day begins. Even in the busiest of mornings, making time for yourself, on a daily basis, can make a compelling difference.
The best way to form a new habit, is add it on to an existing one, switch that first coffee for herbal tea, try journaling instead of scrolling, have a moment of mindful breath-work at the start of the day.
Nourishing your body from within
Busy schedules can often lead to quick and sometimes unhealthy food choices.
Healthy eating is for life, not just for January!
I urge you to make a conscious effort to nourish your body. Ensure you include colourful fruits and vegetables into your meals, stay hydrated, and consider exploring new, wholesome recipes that are both delicious and nutritious.
Hannah from Hannah Hope Nutrition has taught me how to support my hormones through eating a healthy balanced diet, including a wide range of whole foods.
Striking a healthy balance is a more sustainable way to ensure we nourish our bodies better. Fuelling your body with the right nutrients is essential to feeling fresher and more vibrant.
Movement for the mind and body
I know it’s January when the gym is packed.
But physical activity doesn't have to be an intense gym session.
Create joy in movement – whether it's a getting outside for fresh air and a getting those steps in, a morning Pilates session with Amy at Sculpt Pilates, or join the chaos of the gym in January and head to the gym.
Max Baggio has tailored a gym workout plan specifically for me to meet my goals and keep me motivated. The gym is my escape, I can get out of the house and spend an hour to myself. The gym is my non-negotiable self-care, at least 3 times a week.
Movement releases endorphins and helps to relieve stress, it contributes to physical well-being, allows us to take a break from everyday challenges, and helps emotions move through our body.
What’s not to love?
A fresher you begin with a body that moves and a mind that is invigorated.
Prioritising restful sleep
Quality sleep is so underestimated, especially by busy women.
Yet, it is one of the main pillars of wellness.
Silk pillowcases promote better sleep. Silk protein’s amino acids can promote your sleep quality by absorbing the body’s sweat, keeping you comfortable while you sleep.
A fresher you await
As we navigate January, and the year ahead, let's embrace the opportunity to revitalise and thrive.
It isn't about drastic changes; it's about small, sustainable steps that lead to a fresher, more energised you.
Remember, “Wellness is a journey, not a destination.”
Let’s start as we mean to go on, a January and year ahead filled with self-care, rejuvenation and a fresher you.
